When is the HIPS launch?
Home Information Packs become law on 1 August when the person marketing any property in the United Kingdom will need to have commissioned a pack of information to provide to a buyer when the sale is under-way.
Properties already on the market prior to 1 August 2007 won't need a Pack, unless it remains unsold on 1 January 2008.

What's an EPC or Energy Performance Certificate?
Energy Performance Certificates tell you how energy efficient a home is on a scale of A-G. Band A indicates a most efficient type of home with the lowest energy bills.
The Certificate also tells you, on a scale of A-G, about the impact the home has on the environment. Better-rated homes should have less impact through carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
The average property in the UK is in bands D-E for both ratings. The Certificate includes recommendations on ways to improve the home's energy efficiency to save you money and help the environment.
