Home Information Packs become law on 1 August when the person marketing any property in the United Kingdom will need to have commissioned a pack of information to provide to a buyer when the sale is under-way.
Properties already on the market prior to 1 August 2007 won't need a Pack, unless it remains unsold on 1 January 2008.

The Certificate also tells you, on a scale of A-G, about the impact the home has on the environment. Better-rated homes should have less impact through carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
